3M Thinsulate Acoustic/Thermal Insulation SM600L (40' x 60)

3M SM600L is engineered for sound thermal insulation in vehicles. It is 60" wide with scrim on one side, and 1 linear foot covers 5 square feet. The material is compressed by 3M and will expand to 1 3/4 or 44mm. Thinsulate is certified by FMVSS 302, delivering more acoustic absorption per unit weight compared to other products. It helps customers achieve mass reduction goals while creating a quieter vehicle environment with its non-woven sound absorbing fibers.

The material is hydrophobic and it is recommended to use 3M 90 Adhesive Spray to apply the white fiber side to the Van skin. The approximate amounts needed to insulate walls, ceiling, doors, and cab area of vans are as follows: Sprinter 144 WB = 50 linear feet, Ford Transit 148 WB = 50 linear feet, Promaster 159 WB = 60 linear feet, 170 WB Sprinter = 60 linear feet, 170 WB Extended Sprinter = 70 linear feet.
